Cue Interpreter

Nonverbal communication and body-language changes can be difficult to notice or interpret during live social interactions.

Why this matters

Missing a gesture, an orientation change, or a shift in engagement can make a conversation much harder to navigate. A clear description of observable cues gives blind, autistic, and other users more context while leaving the final interpretation with the person.

Current idea
Cue Interpreter is an AI-assisted social-cue and body-language interpretation tool. During or after an interaction, it identifies meaningful observable changes — turning toward or away, leaning closer or farther, nodding, head shaking, pointing, waving, posture changes, increased movement, or a possible attempt to enter or leave the interaction. It always separates what was observed from what it might mean, states its confidence, and offers alternative explanations. It never claims to read minds or presents emotion as fact, because body language varies across people, cultures, disabilities, neurotypes, and situations.
Accessibility notes
Camera-first but screen-reader-friendly throughout. Spoken output stays concise, interaction works by voice or keyboard, and the page structure is strongly semantic. No information is carried by color alone, and uncertainty and confidence are always stated in plain language.
What was learned
Social interpretation is most useful when the system reports evidence first and interpretation second. Expressing uncertainty protects user agency and avoids turning ambiguous behavior into a false fact.
